problem STATEMENT

Most people do not have the time to visit the shop to search for a furniture they want and also they want to order from the comfort of their home. The owner of TradeByKofi also wants to have a simple client interaction procedure.

Objectives & Goals

Design an app for TradeByKofi that enables users to quickly browse furniture, place orders, track orders, and have items delivered to their homes.

DESIGN PROCESS

Identification of problem and
empathizing with users

I identified the problem, which was that the owner desired a platform where his customers could place furniture orders.

RESEARCH

I did a research and interviewed two of his clients to determine how the app would benefit them. After the clients interview, i did an industry reasearch to determine what the current gaps are

ideation

Based on my reach and interview from his clients, I came up with the best solution to address his clients problems and also fill the gaps.

SKETCHING & WIREFRAMING & DESIGNING

To find out if users could complete the main function of the app, I conducted a first and second usability study on five(5) of TradeByKofi's clients.

USER PERSONA

Senam loves furniture made with rattan and would love to have more collection of that

Frustration

1.Catalogue- They do not have access to wide selection of products. 2. Time - Working adults are too busy to visit the shop 3. Long Delivery Time - Most companies delay in delivering their order

GOALS

1. Get a catalogue of furnitures to choose from 2. Order for a product that can be delivered to your home 3. Be able to track your order

SOLUTIONS

Early models did not allow for size customization; the item you chose will have its own size. I created a feature that allows customers to enter their measurements or even choose to have a professional come to their home to record measurements based on their home setting. In addition to making the app compatible with assistive technologies, easy navigation was a crucial user demand that had to be addressed in the designs.

Problem

Early designs of the homepage did not display the prices of products, leading to a suboptimal user experience.

SOLUTION

After conducting usability studies, the design was updated to include the price of each product on the homepage, enhancing the overall user experience.

Problem

Early models did not offer size customization, limiting users to predefined sizes for their chosen items.

SOLUTION

Following usability tests, a new feature was added that allows users to input their measurements or hire a professional to take measurements at their home, ensuring the items match the specific area of their home.

Problem

Initially, the service did not provide a pickup option, which may have inconvenienced customers who preferred to collect their items themselves.

SOLUTION

Following the second usability test, a pickup option was introduced, allowing customers to choose to pick up their own items.
